Historically high temperature

The Latvian Meteorology Center registered historically the highest temperature in the Latvian port city in Kurzeme Province, Ventspils, LETA reported.
The temperature in Ventspils reached 36.7 degrees Celsius and broke all-time high record -- 36.4 degrees Celsius that was registered back in 1943.
Along the whole Kurzeme seacoast the temperature was above 31 degrees Celsius at noon. Two more locations in Kurzeme province registered their temperature records: the town of Rucava -- 33.4 degrees Celsius, and Liepaja city -- 31.3 degrees Celsius.
In the Latvian capital city Riga, the weather was also very hot -- 33 degrees Celsius.
