The scorching heatwave and shortage of water has claimed the life of many camels in several southern regions in Morocco.
According to local sources, the deaths were due to the high temperature, which exceeded 45 degrees Celsius in the southern cities, including the city of Es-Smara and Al-Mahabas, a suburb in the Assa-Zag province, situated in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.a
A group of camel owners have moved their cattle to lower-temperature areas where water is available, in order to save the lives of their flock.
