The Dubai Police have asked owners of 654 confiscated vehicles to contact the department concerned before the end of three months' grace period on May 25 failing which these will be auctioned for sale.
Major General Mohammed Saif Al-Zafin, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Operations Affairs, said that owners of the vehicles should approach the General Department of Traffic in Deira and Bur Dubai to get their vehicles back. There are many cars that could be sold at the auction.
The list and details of these vehicles have been published on the Dubai Police website, and in the newspapers. People were notified that these would be sold after May 25. The models available on auction include Range Rover, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Mini Cooper, Jaguar, Subaru, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Cadillac, among many others.
Maj. Gen. Al-Zafin said that according to the law, Dubai Police have informed the owners of the vehicles to contact the department concerned in order to complete the procedures and pay the accumulated traffic violation fee while getting the confiscated car released before the expiry of three-month period.
He said that the auction committee will handle the sale process of the unclaimed vehicles with transparency
