Infiniti has used the New York Show to give the new LE Concept its world premiere. It\'s a large luxury saloon car, which isn\'t very surprising, and it\'s also entirely electric, which is a bit more surprising until you remember that Infiniti is owned by Nissan, the company that put the Leaf into production. Few technical details have been released, but in among all the talk of smart design and low aerodynamic drag is the news that the LE\'s lithium-ion battery pack can be charged simply by parking the car over a charging pad. A coil in the pad creates a magnetic field which a second coil in the car converts into electricity without the need to use cables. The LE is also fitted with a normal charging port, so it can be plugged in to other electricity sources as necessary. Whether the wireless charging system will make it into production is another matter, but Infiniti says that it expects to have a production version \"in near-similar form\" on sale within two years.
