The hearse used to transport the body of JFK to the Dallas airport following his assassination is now up for auction. The Cadillac hearse that carried President John F. Kennedy\'s body to Air Force One following his assassination in Dallas, Texas on November 22nd, 1963 will be available at the Barrett-Jackson auction on January 21st in Scottsdale, Arizona. The hearse was built by the Miller-Meteor Company and was originally intended to be on display at the National Funeral Home Directors Association Convention that took place in Dallas in October of that fateful year.At the end of the trade show, the hearse was bought by a Dallas funeral home. And only a few weeks later was it used to transport the assassinated president\'s body as well as the First Lady to the Dallas airport for transport back to Washington D.C. aboard Air Force One.Earlier this year, the Pontiac Bonneville ambulance that took the mortally wounded president to the hospital was auctioned off for over $1 million. Chances are that the Cadillac hearse will also go for a high price.Photos courtesy of Desert-autosport.
