Model line-up upgraded with many new product details from June 2013. Even more “Simply Clever” features for the ŠKODA Citigo. New special editions: Fabia Reaction, Fabia Combi Monte Carlo and Roomster Noire. ESC for more safety in Fabia and Roomster – now standard in EU countries. Top-of-the-line diesel in ŠKODA Yeti now available in 4×4 and DSG combination. ŠKODA’s model line-up is becoming even cleverer, safer and more versatile. From June 2013, many upgrades will be available in the Citigo, Fabia, Roomster, Rapid and Yeti, including enhanced safety equipment, new “Simply Clever” features and attractive drivetrains. These additions are part of regular model upgrading. Besides revisions to the existing model line-up, for ŠKODA, 2013 is all about the brand’s model offensive. The new ŠKODA Octavia has been proving itself on the market for some weeks now. May 2013 will see the launch of the new ŠKODA Octavia Combi and ŠKODA Octavia Combi 4×4. The ŠKODA Superb saloon and Combi will be launched in late June following a comprehensive revamp. “Our model portfolio is becoming even more attractive,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA board member for sales and marketing. “Our new models, but also current upgrades to our existing model line-up will expand our favourable position on the markets,” says Eichhorn. The popular subcompact ŠKODA Citigo is becoming even more functional and comfortable: introduced in late 2011, the Citigo immediately became a success last year. The Citigo is available with three and with five doors. Worldwide, 30,000 were sold in 2012. From June, the three-door Citigo’s driver seat will be available with Easy Entry memory function for the first time. This new function makes getting in and out the rear bench much easier as the front passenger\'s seat returns to its last set position. Another very practical detail is that in the five-door Citigo the front passenger seatback can be folded down. This feature enables transportation of objects up to 1.75 metres in length, further improving the car’s already generous loading volume. This is also true of the new variable boot floor, which makes the boot floor flush with the folded down rear seatback, while simultaneously offering additional storage underneath the floor. Another innovation in the Citigo is the Move&Fun multimedia system, which now provides an internet connection via the mobile phone, thus permitting retrieval of traffic updates and the like. The ŠKODA Fabia and Roomster models will be available as Fabia Reaction, Fabia Combi Monte Carlo and Roomster Noire special editions from June. The Fabia Reaction can be ordered as a hatchback in a new black-grey metallic look. The car’s roof, spoilers, grille and side mirrors are painted black; headlights and fog lamps are underlain in black. The car’s B pillars are covered in black décor foil. Black elements combined with the new “Steel” grey metal paint give this special edition an exclusive character. In the interior, the dashboard is also black on black. In addition, the Fabia Reaction sports a small leather package with a three-spoke steering wheel and chrome package. The special edition is available with the same engine options as the Fabia Active. The ŠKODA Fabia Combi Monte Carlo is a tribute to the brand’s almost 112 years of success in motorsports. The special edition is based on the Fabia Ambiente trim version and comes with a sports chassis. Underlining the car’s sportive character is black plastic panelling on the lower body, black B pillars and black 16-inch “Comet” alloy wheels. The car’s headlights are underlain in black, while the grille and side mirrors are painted black, as is the roof railing. The roofline ends in a large rear spoiler. Windows are tinted (SunSet package). The special edition is available with all current Fabia engine options. Its interior features sports seats in black-and-red design, while the roof liner and floor are black. In addition, the Fabia Monte Carlo Combi comes with a small leather package: its three-spoke steering wheel, hand brake lever and shift knob are covered in perforated leather and red stitching. The ŠKODA Roomster Noire is based on the Ambition trim level, with engine options the same as in the current Roomster. The Roomster Noire sports tinted windows and SunSet package, black 16-inch “Comet” alloy wheels, black-underlain headlights and black fog lamps. The grille and side mirrors are painted black. The front bumper has a black spoiler, while the rear bumper comes with a black diffusor. The car’s B pillar is covered in black foil. The interior of the ŠKODA Roomster Noire special edition is comparable to that of the ŠKODA Fabia Combi Monte Carlo and has been upgraded to include black-and-red sports seats and the small leather package. The ŠKODA Fabia and ŠKODA Roomster have been revised to provide more safety. Both now come with electronic stability control (ESC) as standard in EU countries. A new “Simply Clever” feature enhances safety: the child rear-view mirror. This additional panorama rear-view mirror enables the driver to keep an eye on children in the back seats without having to turn his head. In addition, new colours, equipment options and wheels are available for the Fabia and the Roomster. Both models can now be ordered in “Sky” blue and “Metal” grey. The Fabia Monte Carlo and Fabia RS are available in “Steel” grey as an additional option, while the especially efficient GreenLine versions of the Fabia and the Roomster now sport new 15-inch “Rotare” alloy wheels. In the Rapid, a new four-button module now lets the driver operate front and rear power windows. The popular compact SUV the ŠKODA Yeti now comes with an attractive new drivetrain option: from June 2013, the all-wheel-drive ŠKODA Yeti 2.0 TDI/125 kW can be ordered with an automatic 6-speed DSG double-clutch transmission, which offers the shifting comfort of an automatic and at the same time permits quick shifting without interruption of pulling power. Combined consumption in the top-of-the-line diesel version is a mere 6.3 l/100 km. Source: skoda-auto
