New York - Arabstoday
Hyundai will unveil an updated Santa Fe at the New York auto show in April. The Santa Fe SUV is Hyundai's "most representative model" with 2.56 million sales worldwide since its release in 2000, according to the maker. Hyundai has applied its 'Fluidic Sculpture' styling concept for the new Santa Fe but designers have called the SUV's particular styling ethos "Storm Edge". Apparently Hyundai wanted to capture "the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm". If the teaser images are anything to go by, the third-generation softroader will have sharper front-end styling including an Audi-esque LED treatment in the lower bumper. Hyundai says the aim was to create a more aggressive appearance for the Santa Fe, yet keep the current version's "classic" styling. Wider front and rear bumpers and a large grille certainly help to give the softroader a more assertive look. According to Hyundai Australia, the new santa Fe is scheduled for arrival in local showrooms by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more details on exact timing and specifications.
