Nissan Navara EnGuard Concept 2017-BoltE: Range to exceed 200 miles. The new Infiniti Q50: Two new power trains

Nissan has unveiled an all-new vehicle at the 2016 Hannover Motor Show.
The Nissan Navara EnGuard Concept is a durable and tough all-terrain pick-up, designed to operate as a life-saving rescue platform in some of the world’s most harsh and extreme environments. Based on a Double Cab Tekna version of the Nissan Navara — the current holder of the International Pick-up Award — the Navara EnGuard Concept features many bespoke design elements and performance upgrades.
It is also packed with vital equipment suitable for emergency and disaster recovery work, including an advanced drone to provide vital intelligence about what dangers rescue crews might face. It also marks the world debut of a prototype portable battery pack, designed and developed by Nissan. It utilizes the brand’s EV battery technology, already available on the road in the 100 percent electric Nissan LEAF and e-NV200.

Chevrolet promised to offer the first affordable electric vehicle with 200 miles or more of range and should exceed those expectations when the 2017 Bolt EV goes on sale later this year.
With the vehicle’s EPA-estimated range of 238 miles, owners can expect to go beyond their average daily driving needs — with plenty of range to spare — in the 2017 Bolt EV when charging regularly.
“Chevrolet showed the world the production version Bolt EV earlier this year and in a few short months we’ve moved from that vision to a reality,” said GM North America President Alan Batey. “The Bolt EV is a game changer for the electric car segment and it will start to become available at Chevrolet dealerships later this year.”
He added “While range is important, we knew Bolt EV owners would want more — more space and more power — and the Bolt EV delivers.”

• The all-new tenth-generation Honda Civic has been on display at the Paris Motor Show this week.
It represents a significant step forward for Honda in the C-segment, benefiting from the largest single model development program in the company’s history.
The Civic is a core model for Honda and has been at the heart of the brand’s strong sales and manufacturing heritage in the region.
For many customers the Civic is synonymous with the Honda brand and the development team targeted a dynamic rejuvenation of Civic.
This aim demanded new thinking and new approaches to body construction, vehicle aerodynamics and chassis design.
Building on its 40-year heritage, the car stays true to the original Civic concept of “a car for the world”.
The all-new Civic debuts two all-new VTEC TURBO gasoline engines that have been developed specifically to deliver a powerful, engaging and efficient driving experience.
