A Mauritanian journalist called Mohamed Cheikh Ould M'Kheitir was sentenced to death on Thursday after being convicted of apostasy for an article criticizing prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The journalist has the right to appeal within 15 days, but repentance cannot be accepted according to Mauritanian laws, representative of the Mauritanian National Lawyers Association Sidi Mohamed Ould Altmin told MENA.
