AMAN committee adopts MENA's financial analysis center proposal

The follow-up committee of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN) adopted a proposal by the Middle East News Agency (MENA) to set up a regional financial analysis center.

At the end of their meeting on Friday, representatives of AMAN member agencies at the follow-up committee voiced belief that MENA's proposal is important given the growing economic and financial activity in the Mediterranean region.

The proposal was listed on the agenda of the coming AMAN general assembly meetings to be held in Tirana from May 30 to June 2.

According to MENA's proposal, the regional financial analysis center will focus on analyzing the regional economic and financial developments based on the news items and reports transmitted by AMAN's member agencies.

Meanwhile, another MENA proposal was approved by the follow-up committee with regard to holding a workshop in Egypt's Ain Sukhna on media economics.

AMAN groups 19 Arab and European news agencies from Egypt, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania.
