Training is a cornerstone in the strategy of print, audio and video media in Bahrain thanks to its significance in boosting the capabilities and aptitudes of local media staff, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Affairs has said.
“Investing in human resources in order to have qualified media professionals who familiar with the latest modern media technologies is very important because of the positive effects on improving the standards of the news and analyses,” Abdulrahman Mohammed Bahar said as he attended the closing session of the training workshop “Skills in News Reading” co-organised by the Ministry of Information and Gulf Radio and Television.
The undersecretary said that the workshop was part of the ministry’s strategy to elevate the standards of newsreaders, talk hosts and programme presenters on Bahrain Television, as instructed by the Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, who called for embracing the latest positive and successful trends.
“This workshop was selected to bolster the performance of broadcasters and programme presenters and to improve their media skills to empower them to keep abreast of international news bulletins and the world’s best practices,” the undersecretary said. “We want our newscasters to acquire advanced theoretical and practical skills to improve their media character and output.”
