Sarah Palin thinks she would make a great talk show host.
The 50-year-old former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate broached the topic in a recent email interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy announced their departure from The View at the end of June, and Palin suggested she would be a worthy replacement.
"It'd be so much fun to shake it up taking on issues that make audiences objectively consider all sides, and I'd do it it with my real-life groundedness, candor and commonsense that I'm known for," she said.
"I hear everyone recently got canned from The View; maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue."
Palin's series Amazing America was renewed for a second season on the Sportsman Channel this week. The program follows her "wild" day-to-day life as she explores different parts of the U.S. and meets people who "aren't afraid to get a little dirty." The View has not yet announced replacements for Shepherd and McCarthy.
