Brittany and Cynthia Daniel are developing an updated version of Sweet Valley High, the 1990s television series based on Francine Pascal's blockbuster book franchise.
"There is some talk right now," Brittany told E! News. "We're actually going to have some conversations with Francine."
The 39-year-old Daniel twins starred as wealthy, California high-school students Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield on the show, which ran for four seasons 1994-97.
"That series means so much to my sister and I and we want to bring that to our kids and the next generation," Brittany said. "So, it's only natural for us to want to bring it back."
Brittany, a cancer survivor, has continued acting after Sweet Valley High ended and has appeared in the movies Joe Dirt and White Chicks, as well as the TV shows Dawson's Creek, That '80s Show, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Game.
Cynthia left show business in 1995 after an appearance in the big-screen drama The Basketball Diaries. She returned for a one-episode spot on That '80s Show in 2002.
"[Sweet Valley High] seems like a lifetime ago," Cynthia told E! "For me, personally, because I'm not in the business so much anymore, I'm shocked that people still remember it. It's amazing how many people still come up to us about it."
