The Communication and Information Technology Sector of the Interior Ministry has launched a large-scale campaign over crimes related to inciting violence and blackmailing citizens on the various social media. 

The campaign, launched upon directives of Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, resulted in the closer of two Facebook pages because of incitement posts published by their administrators. 

The campaign also resulted in seizing 54 cases of extortion and blackmailing of citizens via social media.

All legal measures have been taken against the reported cases and the prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
