The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has launched its first teleshopping channel offering a broad range of Iranian products to consumers. The over-the-air digital channel, named IRIB Bazar, was launched during a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, IRIB director Ezzatollah Zarghami and a number of other Iranian officials on Sunday. The new channel aims to reform Iranian consumption patterns and give the country's economy a boost, Mehr News Agency quoted Zarghami as saying. The channel also aims to introduce new products, provide viewers with the information on where to purchase the items they need, and give them advice on what to buy, he added. Zarghami also called the channel a place where inexpensive goods are offered to low-income families. A digital-to-analogue converter box is required to watch IRIB Bazar television channel on analogue TVs. The channel can also be received on Badr satellite, frequency: 11881 MHz, horizontal position, symbol rate: 27500, FEC ¾. A full HD receiver is needed to receive the channel.
