Some 200 primary and secondary schools around the country decided Tuesday to prolong the summer vacation, mostly scheduled to end this week, or temporarily close down as record heat waves continue to grip the nation, local educational offices said. According to various city and provincial educational offices, 145 primary and secondary schools in the southeastern city of Daegu postponed the start of the second semester due to the sweltering weather.
