Qatar Airways has honoured 38 aerospace students who have graduated with flying colours. Having completed their studies at the Qatar Aeronautical College, the group – comprising 22 aircraft maintenance engineers and 16 cadet pilots – will now embark on a full-time career at the award-winning carrier. Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar al-Baker presided over a graduation ceremony honouring the students at the Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha, where senior management from Qatar Aeronautical College, including director general Ali al-Malki, were among the guests. “The graduates are the latest success stories in Qatar Airways’ pursuit to fulfil the Qatar 2030 Vvr the State of Qatar by investing in Qatari local talent and building a strong local workforce,” a spokesman said. Congratulating the aerospace students on their achievements, al-Baker said: “This is a truly special occasion as we celebrate the graduation of highly skilled home-grown talent who have made their mark through sheer dedication and commitment.” Reinforcing the opportunities available for Qataris with the airline, Qatar Airways vice-president, nationalisation, Dr. Kholode al-Obaidli added: “Qatar Airways offers scholarships for a variety of majors as there are 21 different disciplines available within the airline and its subsidiaries offering students an opportunity to be a part of a vast and diverse organisation. “These options include working in human resources, product development, commercial, revenue management, information technology, marketing, corporate planning, the current and new Doha International Airport and many more areas.”from gulf times.
