Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council, conferred here today with Minister of Education of Brunei Darussalam Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong. The meeting discussed means to develop cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Government of Brunei Darussalam in the fields of education, with a focus on general and technical education and higher education. They agreed during the meeting to activate communication between education officials in both countries to learn about the distinctive experiences and initiatives of each party. The talks concluded with a call to develop an action program and activate the memorandum of understanding signed between them in educational cooperation in January 2012. The Minister of Education in Brunei Darussalam praised the overall growth taking place in Qatar and the evolving Qatari educational experience, pointing out that what Qatar has achieved in a short period of time is impressive and a cause for pride. He expressed the hope that other countries benefit from the Qatari experience in this vital field, adding that this success was achieved thanks to the interest attached by the wise leadership to education as a strategic choice for growth and development.
