Hawali's Governorate's art education guidance department is due to host a carnival on Thursday, in the attendence of 17 schools, dubbed "Fantazia" at Kuwait Scientific Center marking the global occasion of Earth Day. Some 150 students will take part in the celebration, which will take place at 4:00pm (local time), and the event will coincide with Earth Day. "It will emphasize the importance of preserving our world, recycling waste, and protecting the environment," Ameera Ashkanani Director of art education at Hawali education area told KUNA. Ashkanani added that such a celebration aims to increase student and community awareness on the need to utilize consumed raw materials and alternatives practically in creating works of art and making this waste "artistically feasible." The official noted to 15 artworks made from alternative consumed raw materials from plastic, paper, cartons, and other materials which will be presented during the event. Ashkanani said that the name "Fantazia" was picked due to its relativeness to the shapes, sculptures, and exotic fantasies that are varying in sizes. She also indicated to live performances presented by gifted students, describing the event as a "huge leap forward in art education."
