Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation donated 25,000 euros to Kuwait\'s Al-Najat Charitable Society on Sunday, to develop the Alaa Eddine Sharia school in Kosovo. The educational center has been dedicated to educating young Muslims about their religion since 1951, said Deputy Director General of Al-Najat Jaber Al-Wandah. He praised the donation, noting that it comes according to the prominent role assumed by Al-Najat in Kosovo, that is predominantly Muslim and where the percentage of Muslims is over 90 percent, and where there is an urgent need to repair damaged religious educational establishments after years of devastating war. Al-Wandah said that Alaa Eddine Sharia school operates under the umbrella of the Islamic Union of Kosovo, and works to improve the educational level of Muslims, in order to raise them according to the values and ethics of Islam. He stressed that the school has had a historic role in preserving the Islamic faith and heritage, while preserving Albanian as the official language. Nearly 24 subjects are taught at the high school level, including the Qur\'an, faith, interpretation, chemistry, physics, Albanian language and computer science, Under the supervision of the Presidency of the Islamic Union of Kosovo, the only executive body that is tasked with the affairs of Islamic education in Kosovo. He expressed his thanks to the General Secretariat of Awqaf for its support to this scientific institution and for the significant effort inside and outside Kuwait in support of this charity.
