Myanmar President U Thein Sein has offered scholarships to develop the country's human resources, state media reported Tuesday. "The government will grant scholarships to outstanding students as part of efforts to develop Myanmar's human resources," U Thein Sein told faculty members during his inspection tour to the Myitgyina University in Myitgyina, the capital of northernmost Kachin state, said the New Light of Myanmar. He stressed the importance of the role played by human resources in carrying out reform, saying that the government is building more educational facilities to invest into the youth. He urged students to cultivate the Union Spirit and build a peaceful future for next generation. In his last visit to Kalay University in Kalay, U Thein Sein had also stressed investment in education sector development in the country, saying education is the most profitable investment for the nation. Meanwhile, Myanmar has been cooperating with three countries, namely Japan, Australia and Germany in developing education, human resources and cultural sectors.
