Her Majesty Queen Rania met with beneficiaries of scholarships offered by various universities around the world. These scholarships in Her Majesty's name are offered to young Jordanians in recognition of the Queen's efforts in the education field, locally and internationally. During the meeting, the scholarship beneficiaries told Her Majesty about their experiences and the positive effect these programmes had on their lives. They also spoke about the knowledge they acquired from this opportunity, and how it helped them improve their skills, according to a statement released by the Queen's office. To date, some 100 Jordanian students and professionals from across the Kingdom have benefitted from 25 scholarships and training opportunities offered by six different universities. These are Marymount and Thunderbird universities in the US, the Athens Information Technology University in Greece, Instituto de Empressa in Spain, Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia in Italy and the American University of Cairo in Egypt. The scholarships offered are mainly in the IT, business, management, human rights and human development fields, the statement said.
