H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah has issued decision No.27 of 2013, pertaining to the establishment of Social Solidarity Fund to support "Students and Scientific Research" at Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU). The decision stipulates the establishment of a fund under the name "Social Solidarity Fund for Students and Scientific Research" and it will be a charitable foundation under the supervision of RAKMHSU. The fund's headquarters will be based in Ras Al Khaimah and aimed to achieve the following three objectives. The Vision of the Fund will be to establish a partnership between the University and the community in order to build a knowledge-based society in addition to the development of the academic and cultural atmosphere so as to qualify generations. The Message it will spread is to contribute to securing a sustainable funding for the university, that would ensure the quality of teaching and scientific research. The Objective will be to assist those outstanding students, who are unable to pay university fees as well as supporting scientific research. The second article of the decision states that the University will manage the fund and work on achieving its goals under its chairman or board of directors, who shall be appointed by the university chancellor or his representative and shall be subject to his supervision. Under the third article, the fund manager will manage its work so as to achieve its objectives and provide regular reports in this regard to the chancellor of the university or his deputy. The fourth article states that the officials of the fund should observe the law, regulations and other relevant resolutions enforced in the U.A.E. The resolution shall take into effect as of the date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
