The parents of a hearing-impaired Chicago high school student expelled for not listening to her teachers filed a lawsuit against the school, court records say. Aamed Pryor and Niya Jackson charge the staff at St. Scholastica High School was well aware their daughter had a hearing problem when she enrolled as a freshman in 2008, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday. The school expelled their daughter in December after a series of offenses that included failure to listen, disrespect and failure to respond to teacher requests. \"This pattern of poor behavioral performance is an indication to us that [the girl] is unable to meet our behavioral standards,\" said Principal Colleen Brewer in the expulsion letter. The letter doesn\'t mention the girl\'s hearing problem. The lawsuit names Brewer, the school\'s president, the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Benedictine Sisters.
