The National Assembly passed a bill Thursday banning advance teaching at schools, a practice often blamed for excessive private tutoring and deteriorating public education. The special law, aimed at promoting normalization of public education, bans elementary, middle and high schools as well as universities from teaching material beyond the scope of the regular curriculum, including during after-school classes.
