Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday
Ten teachers and 77 Emirati students in Grades nine to 12 will take part in a gaming technology workshop that has been designed to teach young people ways to create their own video games. The Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec), AMD and the AMD Foundation have partnered to enhance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem) skills among teens in Abu Dhabi through game design workshops and teacher training, which began on Sunday and will run through next Thursday at The Al Marwah School. The workshop involves students in game design workshops, community service programmes and digital literacy boot camps. These workshops will provide students with techniques to further develop their Stem skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities. The programme also instructs teachers on how to best implement these Stem-building strategies in classrooms around Abu Dhabi.
