A delegation from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, on Sunday visited the Zayed University Campus in Dubai. The 33 students led by professor Paul Friga, Director of Consulting Concentrations and Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, was received by Provost of Zayed University, Dr. Larry Wilson, and vice-provost, Bryan Gilroy and other faculty members. During the visit, the delegation discussed scientific and academic cooperation in fields such as IT, student and faculty exchange visits between the two varsities, according to the provost. The US academic delegation also acquainted itself with the Zayed University\'s academic programs. A presentation was given by vice-provost Gilroy on bachelor, post-graduate and 22 executive masters degree programs, he noted. The University of North Carolina delegation hailed the advanced level of Zayed University academic programs as well as the interest of the UAE\'s leadership in supporting education and engaging students in national development. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (also known as UNC, UNC-Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, or simply Carolina) was chartered in 1789, and began enrolling students in 1795, which allows it to be one of three schools to claim the title of the oldest public university in the United States. North Carolina has been consistently ranked among the highest ranked universities in the United States and is one of the original eight Public Ivy schools. It offers 77 bachelor\'s, 107 master\'s, 69 doctorate and six professional degree programs through its 14 schools and the College of Arts and Sciences.
