Education Minister Moheb el Rafei received on Thursday a group of teachers and heads of education departments to discuss development plans.

During the meeting, the minister praised the teachers as the "pillar of the educational process."

The meeting discussed maintenance projects being carried out at schools nationwide to secure the minimum level of safety for students.

The minister urged the teachers to reactivate the discipline chart to restore the vital role played by schools.

Asked about the appointment of 30,000 new teachers, the minister noted the appointments would be distributed according to the need of schools nationwide.
