Cairo - MENA
Education Minister Mahmoud Abul Nasr on Monday received Libyan Ambassador in Cairo Fayez Jibril to discuss problems of Libyan private schools in Egypt.
The Libyan ambassador said that these schools have Libyan students whose parents fled Libya because of certain circumstances.
These schools are not subject to the Libyan embassy's supervision, Jibril said.
Libyan February 17 private schools, include 1,200 students were closed down for working without legal licenses, he added.
The minister stressed that Egypt does not mind to open any private school, after getting necessary licenses.
The minister agreed that the Libyan embassy will submit a request to supervise the school's main branch until the end of the current academic year.
The request will be studied in light of conditions set by the ministry, he said.
Unlicensed branches will not be allowed to be re-opened for violating the law, he added.
