The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF) is planning to include dates into school meals for students on subsidised prices starting from new academic year 2015-2016.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency,WAM, Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation said," Dates will be part of canteens' meals in government schools in Abu Dhabi in coordination with the Ministries of Education, Health, the Abu Dhabi Health Services "SEHA" and the Abu Dhabi Education Council." He explained that dates are essential part of healthy nutrients as they provide students with the necessary energy to engage in mental and sports activities during their school day.
He pointed out that the Khalifa Foundation is currently providing school canteens with the required quantities of milk, yogurt and juices from Al Ain Farms for Livestock Production to be sold to students at subsidised price.
