Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab underlined Thursday the importance of examining school syllabuses to avoid any repetition and to make sure they promote morals.
Mahlab said curricula should include subjects that teach students ethics, morals, citizenship, and encourage them to preserve public funds and utilities.
Mahlab gave the remarks while chairing a meeting of the committee tasked with developing school curricula.
Ministers of awqaf, higher education, scientific research, technical education and training, culture, education were present along with the grand mufti and representatives from Al-Azhar and the church.
He instructed that all school books should be printed and distributed to school ahead of the start of new academic year.
He called for finalizing as quickly as possible maintenance works in schools.
The premier also directed to pay more attention to nutrition programs for students and the need to be expanded.
