Qatar will take part in the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture "UNESCO" and the Government of Japan in the city of Aiche- Nagoya, Japan from 10 to 12 November.
Qatar's delegation the Conference will be led by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi .
The delegation includes representatives from the SEC, University of Qatar, Qatari Community College and the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science.
About 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to participate in the Conference to discuss a host of the development issues and their relationship to education, including ways to develop education in order to build a better future and to accelerate the implementation of measures to achieve sustainable development, and how to meet the future educational challenges.
The Conference will also prepare education work agenda for the sustainable development beyond 2014, as well as identify strategies to achieve the best common future plans.
A ceremony will also be held on the sidelines of the conference to celebrate what has been accomplished during the United Nations Decade for Sustainable Development (2005 -2014 m) and the lessons learned and the road map for the future.
