UAE exerts a lot of efforts in all Yemeni sectors, especially education, as it aims to rebuild schools. Yemeni people are expressing their gratitude to UA, saying that it played a great role despite all rumors, and it really believes that education is the basis of civilization, because it is the only way to fight all radical thoughts. UAE helped with the reconstruction of educational facilities that were used by Houthi militias during their war on the Yemeni people.
Minister of Education, Abdullah Lmales said that ,the educational process is running normally especially with Arab Coalition efforts, on top of them is UAE, that donates 44.06 million dollar to rebuild and fix more than 270 schools in the liberated governorates. He added that, development projects launched by UAE supporting education sector especially in Yemen, helped government to restore hope to this damaged sector.
UAE helped to rearrange the situation for Aden schools after liberating it from the militias, and it fixed 144 schools in Aden, 18 in Lahij, 18 in El Dala’e, and 32 others all over the island. While education manager in Aden, Mohammed Abdulraqib confirmed that, the Emirati Red Cross carried out a miracle in the education sector, not only on pre-war schools, but also revived old and closed ones. Safer school in El Bareka directorate is one of the schools that were opened after 10 years of closure because of its collapsed buildings, but UAE adopted the whole project and provide the school with the required necessities to re-open its doors to students.
Supervisor of the projects of the UAE Crescent in Hadramout valley, Hassan Hameed Baqimish said that, UAE upgraded educational levels, as it opened computer sections in many schools, and provided them with 1600 device, and distributed 240 water containers over 120 schools to solve the water problem especially during summer. Also 14 school buses were added to new additions, adding that “School Bag” project is UAE most important projects, as it targets poor families and helps their children to complete their education, by providing stationery and educational tools.
Education manager in El Tawahi, Anees El Hagar, said that the directorate building is considered a landmark and UAE worked on restoring it without losing this historical feature, adding that the building resumed its work after supplying it with required equipment to supervise 16 schools and kindergartens.
