Marking the beginning of the new academic year, the Religious Affairs Directorate's Zakat and Charity Fund at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has carried out the Schoolbag Project which benefited around 300 families. The project is one of the fund's main initiatives implemented at the outset of every academic year which consists mainly in providing students from the primary, intermediate and secondary levels with their schoolbag and coupons to buy the required stationery in order to alleviate the burden on poor families registered with the fund.
The projects implemented by the fund are part of its strategy to diversify charity expenditure and boost its effectiveness in line with the kingdom's Economic Vision 2030. It is to note that the Zakat and Charity Fund is the accredited party in Bahrain to disburse and raise zakat and charities as well as answer related queries.
