Abu Dhabi - WAM
With new and returning students gearing up to attend their first classes of the new academic year 2015 -2016 tomorrow, Abu Dhabi University has launched its namesake mobile application for both IOS, Android and WP smart phones. Available via the "Apple Store" and "Google Play", the University's new app offers users a variety of streamlined services and features that aim to enhance their ADU experience, and benefit the public, parents, enrolled and prospective students, faculty and staff, thereby saving energy and time.
Commenting on the University's foray into the mobile-app world, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University explained that with the UAE's progressive transition into a knowledge-based economy, it was only natural for Abu Dhabi University to integrate in its strategic plan new initiatives that focus on innovation and creativity and help offer its students an international educational environment. "It's extremely fitting that we welcome the first semester of the new academic year 2015 -2016 with the launch of Abu Dhabi University's mobile application which was modelled and benchmarked against its top performing counterparts from universities across the region and the world, thereby ensuring a smooth and unique experience to its users. Especially since, we worked throughout the design and prototyping phase on incorporating feedback from students, faculty and staff. Furthermore, perhaps one of the most vital aspects we focused on was ensuring the security and privacy of its users in the sense that the app doesn't share info with any third parties," said Dr. Ibrahim.
Dr. Ibrahim stressed that the "Abu Dhabi University" mobile application is part of a comprehensive plan that the University is implementing to upgrade and enhance facilities, services and on-campus infrastructure to provide a positive educational experience for its students and boost its run for international academic accreditation from WASC.
On his part, Charles Diab Director of University Advancement pointed out that in order to be in sync with our multicultural student community, in its first phase the new mobile application supports both Arabic and English languages.
