A Sudanese parliamentary delegation paid a visit to the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women.

Led by MP Mohammed Ahmed Wadaat Allah, Chairman of the Sudanese -Bahraini Parliamentary Friendship Society, the delegation was briefed about women’s strides in all fields.

The delegation met SCW Administrative and Information Affairs director Ezzedine Khalil Almoayyed who briefed on the march of the council since its inception by royal order.

Almoayyed outlined Bahraini women’s gains and strides and highlighted advanced legislations aimed at achieving family stability, citing particularly the promulgation of the family, the establishment of the family courts, the activation of the reconciliation office, in addition to the law on protecting women from domestic violence.

He informed the Sudanese parliamentary delegation on the role of the Woman Support Centre in providing family and legal counselling as well as free judicial assistance.

The Sudanese delegation hailed Bahrain’s strides in promoting women’s empowerment in all fields, commending cooperation between the council and legislative branch to incorporate women’s needs in development programmes.
