Barbara Bush, wife of one U.S. president and mother of another, gave a half-hearted endorsement to the idea of her son, Jeb, making a run for the White House. "Maybe it's OK," Bush said in an interview aired Wednesday on Fox News. In January, she said the country has "had enough Bushes," CBS News reported. While she called Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, "the best-qualified person to run for president," she said she hoped he would not seek the 2016 Republican nomination. Even now, Bush appears somewhat unenthusiastic about another Bush candidacy. "Maybe Jeb's given all he should give," she told Fox. "He's worked awfully hard for a long time." The interview, on the 25th anniversary of the starting of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, aired the day after another Bush, Jeb's son George P., won a resounding victory in the Texas Republican primary to become the party's candidate for Texas land commissioner.
