South Sakhalinsk - Ria Novosti
British adventurer Sarah Outen crossed Russia\'s Tatar Strait in seven and a half hours by kayak and reached Sakhalin on Wednesday, she wrote in her blog. The crossing is the latest stage of a two-year round the world expedition from London to London, cycling across continents and kayaking at sea. She started her world tour on April 1 from London. Outen, 26, is already the first woman and the youngest person to row the Indian Ocean solo. She made her way to the end of Russia by way of crossing the English Channel, the roads of Western Europe, Ukraine, the Rostov region, Volga region, Kazakhstan, China and roads of Russia\'s Far East. Outen plans to cross Sakhalin Island by bicycle, swim across the La Perouse Strait by kayak and reach the Japanese island of Hokkaido. She then plans to spend the winter in Japan and then cross the Pacific Ocean, ride across North America on a bike and cross the Atlantic before returning to London.
