In a horrific incident, a deaf and mute woman was raped by a doctor working in a government hospital. The 19-year-old patient was found disrobed and lying in an unconscious state in the hospital where she wwas admitted for chest pain, reports The Times of India. The woman was examined and found to have been raped. Further investigation is on. The Indian state of West Bengal has recently witnessed a series of rape cases accompanied by state apathy. The chief minister of the state, Mamata Banerjee, also a woman, has gone on record and called a rape victim a liar. Public outcry followed the politician\'s statement. The chief minister just made the situation worse by blaming the opposition for the recent spate of rape cases. She has not made any statement so far on this case. However, the woman\'s family has registered a complaint with the hospital and a panel has been set up to look into the allegations, said the paper.
