Navdeep Suri, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, has said that Emirati women play an important role in the society and contribute effectively to the UAE's development process in various fields.
On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, the Indian Ambassador said, "The UAE's leadership has given the due care and attention to women since the establishment of the country under the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and supported them with the help of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood."
He added that Sheikha Fatima is a symbol, example and role model for Emirati women, as she supports them to create and innovate in all fields. He added that the announcement of August 28th of each year as a day for Emirati women, is a tribute to her and her role in the society.
During the four decades of the federation, the UAE has witnessed many tangible developments in which women have played a prominent role, where they occupy the highest leadership positions in the country.
