Vice-Chairman of the National Anti-Smoking Committee, Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma has been granted the East Mediterranean Special Recognition Award, marking the World No Tobacco Day. Dr. Al Jalahma was awarded, along with other five personalities in the region, in recognition of her accomplishments in the area of tobacco control. On the occasion, Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma dedicated the award to the kingdom, and credited the government for Bahrain\'s landmark successes in the field of combating smoking, wishing that the country will be a smoking-free one.
