A New York woman said she was shocked and "grossed out" to discover a lizard head in the kale salad she had delivered from a restaurant. Robin Sandusky, 31, said she ordered a $4.25 kale salad Tuesday from Guy & Gallard and she soon discovered there were more greens than the vegetative variety on her fork, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday. "I just grossed out," Sandusky said. "I thought it was a piece of asparagus, but then I saw the eye." Sandusky said she declined the restaurant's offer of a replacement salad and took a refund instead. "I'm going to be fine tomorrow, but right now I'm still a little freaked out," Sandusky said. A store manager who asked to be identified only as Alan confirmed Sandusky was issued a refund, but he said he could not confirm whether there was a lizard head in the salad. "She told me, but I didn't check it," Alan said. "When the salad came back, I wasn't here." Alan said he apologized to the customer. "I'm really so sorry. If you need something -- she said, 'No, we are fine, just a refund,'" he said. Jason Jeffries, a managing partner at Guy and Gallard, said the company is investigating the incident.
