A body found in the desert in Qatar is that of missing British teacher Lauren Patterson, sources told the Doha News. The newspaper reported Thursday friends of Patterson say DNA testing is needed to confirm the identification because the body had been burned and was unrecognizable. The News said three sources had confirmed the body is Patterson. The Ministry of the Interior said there had been arrests of people suspected of killing Patterson but would not say how many arrests had been made or give any information about the detainees. The Guardian reported Wednesday the ministry said in a statement only that the case involved \"a European woman\'s murder.\" Patterson, 24, of London, was working as a primary school teacher in Qatar. Her boyfriend, James Grima, said on Facebook she disappeared Saturday night. Grima, of Malta, is also working in Qatar. \"I can\'t believe that it had to end this way Lauren, I really don\'t. I was so happy that I had finally found someone that could change my life so much, and in such a positive way too,\" Grima said Sunday on Facebook. \"Rest In Peace, babe ... I will always look up at the sky cause you always were the brightest star and always will be.\"
