H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, today received Brigitte Macron, wife of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, who is currently visiting the country.
H.H. Sheikha Fatima welcomed the visit of Ms. Macron, stressing its importance in strengthening ties between the two friendly countries in the cultural, scientific, and other fields.
Sheikha Fatima highlighted that UAE women play active roles across the nation in various areas through their positive contributions to the economic, social and cultural changes witnessed by the country. She added that Emirati women have achieved remarkable success in all fields and now they are securing the highest leadership positions in all fields.
France's First Lady expressed her admiration of the UAE's cultural renaissance in various aspects of life, which, she said, present a unique model in combining modernity and originality. She praised the role of UAE women and their achievements thanks to the support of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
She also affirmed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, and expressed her happiness and delight at the opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi, saying, "It is a cultural monument and achievement that represents the deep and lasting friendship between France and the UAE, and it means a lot for France... as it represents the junction of the Western and Eastern worlds, and carries a message of tolerance and peace to the world, as well as strengthening the close ties between the two countries."
The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhas, ministers, dignitaries and senior officials.
