Police in Mesa, Ariz., have apprehended a suspect in the abduction of an 8-year-old girl, authorities said. The girl was kidnapped as she was riding her bike around her apartment complex Sunday afternoon, KNXV-TV, Phoenix, reported. Mesa police Sgt. Tony Landato said the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Robert Curtis Milliron, crashed his vehicle in an alley near where he allegedly picked up the girl. The girl managed to escape while Milliron fled on foot, Landato said. Milliron was arrested about 45 minutes later and allegedly admitted to the abduction, Landato said. Neighbors said they were shocked to hear about the abduction. "It's really sad because now kids are going to have to stay inside, not going out to play with their friends or have fun," said Lester Hernandez, who lives in the same apartment complex as the girl.
