Swedish police said a 28-year-old man in police custody in another country has confessed to stabbing a schoolgirl in the throat near a Gothenburg school. The Feb. 6 attack on the 10-year-old girl occurred in the front of an elementary school. Police said the suspect fled to another country to which he has no known connection, The Local reported Tuesday. While not revealing his location, authorities said the European country would extradite him to Sweden. The man confessed after turning himself in to authorities, The Local said. Prosecutors said they expect he will be returned to Sweden in the next few weeks. \"[That] is my hope,\" prosecutor Per Hakan Larsson said. \"All the documents are in place now, so it shouldn\'t take so long.\" The girl is recovering well, officials said.
