A transgender Florida woman accused of injecting toxic substances into women\'s buttocks pleaded guilty and was sentenced Thursday to a year in prison. Oneal Morris, 32, pleaded guilty in Miami-Dade court to a charge of practicing medicine without a license and will have to surrender Jan. 7 to serve her 366-day sentence, WTVJ-TV, Miami, reported. Morris was arrested on similar charges in Broward County, where charges are still pending. \"I\'m just happy this case is over, you know, it impacted my life a lot and God has really prevailed for me,\" Morris said after sentencing. \"It\'s been very difficult.\" Police suspect Morris was part of an underground network of scam artists who have been preying on women who want to change their appearances but lack the money for traditional cosmetic surgery. Prosecutor Katheline Cortes said Thursday authorities were never able to determine what substance or substances Morris used to inject her victims. \"Since it was delayed disclosure, we were never able to determine what was injected into the victims,\" she said. In July 2012 Morris was also arrested on a manslaughter charge in the death of Shatarka Nuby, 32. She had faced 15 years in prison had the case gone to trial.
