Turkish high-officials on Saturday marked the Mother's Day, celebrated on thesecond Sunday of the month of May.Turkey's President Abdullah Gul stressed the importance of mother-child bonding inhis message, saying that a child who gained motherly love would be at peace withhis environment and stay away from all sorts of harmful influences."The new generations’ strength depends on various kinds of good opportunitiesprovided to mothers, from education to health,” he added.Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said many young people have died inTurkey due to terrorist acts and the only way to establish peace in the country iswhen mothers’ hearts are stilled. He said Turkey would not experience suchsuffering again as the government is taking decisive measures to end terrorism.Family and Social Policies Minister Aysenur Islam stressed in her celebrationmessage that the society always needs mothers who are socially active, well-educated, confident, strong, productive and who can keep up with the changingworld.
