Greek police revealed on Friday the kidnap of a 4-year-old girl by a Roma couple in 2009 in a case that has shocked Greek society. During a routine survey at a Roma camp near the city of Larissa in central Greece earlier this week, police officers became suspicious when they noticed a blue-eyed girl with blonde hair which was unlike the alleged parents, police said. After a thorough check into documents and DNA tests, it was found that the child was not related to the 40-year-old woman and the 39-year-old man who were raising the girl as their own. The woman posing as the mother was found to have been registered in two municipalities in Greece, as mother of five girls and a boy in one case, and as mother of four girls in another. The alleged father appears as the father of another four children. The couple was charged for abduction and use of forged documents, as police are searching for the girl\'s biological parents, looking into reported kidnap cases over the past four years, and calling onto the public to notify authorities of any information which could shed light on the case.
