Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA)

HE Ministry of Finance Undersecretary Khalaf Ahmed Al Manai on Wednesday opened the first meeting for the board of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), which will run in Doha until Friday.
In his opening speech, Al Manai expressed Qatar's keenness on carrying on cooperation and communication with Arab countries in every aspect that would serve interests of Arab countries and consolidate ties with friendly peoples, particularly neighboring ones.
He added that such approach has always been a priority for the Qatari leadership and gets special attention from HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which, he said, was clear in Qatar's support for BADEA since its establishment and throughout its development including Doha's contribution to increase the bank's capital two years ago.
The bank's hard work in the Arab world for the benefit of the region has yielded very significant outcomes evident in the achievements of the bank, Al Manai said, adding that BADEA was entrusted with strengthening cooperation and forging strong bonds with neighbors and friends in Africa where the urgent need for financial and technical support is unprecedented.
